Liberia's Deputy Ambassador to Zoom Africa News: Unity is our shared dream... and our relations with Egypt are witnessing a boom in trade and investment.

Miriam Kobe, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to Cairo, expressed her pride in participating in the celebrations of “Africa Day”At Cairo University, stressing that unity and solidarity are the two fundamental pillars for achieving the common African dream.”.

In exclusive statements to “Zoom Africa News” during the celebration of Africa Day at Cairo University, Kobi praised the level of bilateral relations between Monrovia and Cairo, describing them as “very friendly”.

She said: “We greatly value our partnership with Egypt, especially in the areas of trade and investment. What strengthens these ties is the active and mutual diplomatic representation with our embassies in both countries, which pushes cooperation efforts to broader horizons.”.

African unity: the ultimate goal

The Deputy Ambassador stressed that her message on this occasion is the need for Africans to hold fast to their unity, saying: “We must be united, for this unity is not just a slogan, but the goal and the solution that the peoples of the continent seek to ensure a better future.”.

Cultural identity in “African dress”

During the meeting, Miriam Kobbi showcased glimpses of African culture through her traditional dress, conveying a message of pride in the continental identity. She explained that the garment she wears represents the unity of the West African region, as it is popular in countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, and Guinea. She emphasized that African craftsmanship reflects a unique and rich cultural heritage that unites the people of the continent.

Ambassador Ali El-Hefny told Zoom Africa News: Africa is always present in the Egyptian consciousness... and "Africa Day" is not just an annual occasion.

 

In a separate context, Ambassador Ali El-Hefny, former Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, affirmed that the message conveyed by the Egyptian state in “Africa Day”It is a message that is far-reaching and deeply rooted, stressing that celebrating the African continent is not just a protocol occasion that comes around from year to year, but rather an expression of a strategic and existential depth that places Africa at the forefront of the Egyptian mind and conscience on a daily basis.

In exclusive statements to “Zoom Africa News” on the sidelines of Egypt’s celebration of Africa Day at Cairo University, Al-Hafni explained that Egyptian-African relations are characterized by continuity and uninterruptedness, noting that the Egyptian move towards the continent is no longer limited to the official diplomatic side only, but has extended to include the cooperation of all state institutions, the private sector, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.

Ambassador Al-Hafni highlighted the surge in communication with rising African generations over the past ten years, saying: “Egypt has succeeded in creating effective communication platforms and networks that connect Egyptian youth with their brothers on the continent, which was clearly demonstrated by Egypt hosting thousands of African youth over the past decade.”.
