The Moroccan national team reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup after defeating the Canadian team by three goals to nil, at the Houston Stadium in the United States of America, in the round of 16 of the global competition.

The first half kicked off with Canadian pressure on the Moroccan team's midfield, as the “Lions” failed to get into the rhythm of the match for the first 20 minutes.
And before the water break, Ismail Sabiri left the game due to injury, making way for Soufiane Rahimi.
The remaining minutes of the first half brought nothing new, as the first half was characterized by a tight tactical battle between the two sides.

With the start of the second half, Morocco entered the Canadian match with pressure, aiming to score an early goal, which they achieved through Azzedine Ounahi in the 50th minute with a wonderful shot.

And after Ounahi's goal (nicknamed "The Bee"), Morocco's performance improved, and they began to control the tempo of the match, while the Canadian players showed nervousness.
In the 82nd minute, the brilliant Ounahi added the second goal after a swift attack led by Chamseddine Talbi.
In the 90+8th minute, Soufiane Rahimi concluded the score for the national team with a third goal in the minute.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team will face the winner of the match between France and Paraguay in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in about an hour and a half.
