Ambassador Mohand Saleh Laâdjouzi, Assistant Secretary General of theLeague of Arab States The Director General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, today, June 4, 2026, launched the specialized training program in the field of cardiology and cardiac catheterization organized by the Fund in the United Republic of Tanzania at the Tanzanian Heart Institute at Muhimbili National Hospital, in conjunction with the international scientific conference “Cardiatan” specializing in cardiology in Dar es Salaam, with the participation of 200 Tanzanian and African doctors, in cooperation with the Heart to Heart Association and the Egyptian-African Society for Cardiac Research and Diseases.
The initiative promotes Arab-African cooperation in the field of health.
In his speech at the opening session, Ambassador Al-Ajouzi stressed that this initiative comes within the framework of the Fund’s efforts to promote Arab-African cooperation in the health field, and to support capacity building and the transfer of specialized medical expertise to African cadres, which contributes to the development of health care services and raising the level of services provided to citizens.
In his speech, he also conveyed the greetings of Ambassador Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and his wishes for the success of the training program and the conference, praising the importance of strengthening Arab-African partnerships in development fields, especially the health sector, and expressing his appreciation to the government of the United Republic of Tanzania and to Muhimbili National Hospital for their cooperation and support in organizing this initiative.
The program includes training Tanzanian doctors and health personnel on the latest practices in the field of cardiology, in addition to performing a number of cardiac catheterization procedures for critical cases, which enhances the exchange of experiences and supports the development of cardiac care services in Tanzania.
This activity comes within the framework of an ongoing path of cooperation between the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries and the relevant Tanzanian authorities, with the aim of supporting health development and building medical capacities in African countries.
