Ghana's president launches project to create 261 markets to boost the economy and create jobs

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama inaugurated the construction of a 24-hour economy market in the Assen Beriko area of Assen North District in the Central Region, in a new step within the government's plan to expand business activity, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.

The modern market is part of a nationwide government plan to establish 261 markets in various provinces, and will include a full range of services, including a childcare center, a medical clinic, refrigerated storage units, warehouses, a taxi stand, two police and fire stations, a restaurant, a pharmacy, upgraded sewage systems, market management offices, and 24-hour banking services.

The project includes the establishment of a modern market with integrated services within a government plan.
President Mahama stressed that the project will contribute to revitalizing trade, attracting investments, and improving the standard of living in the Asin Beriko region and surrounding areas.

He also renewed the government's commitment to accelerating development, reducing poverty, and expanding economic opportunities for all citizens in Ghana.
