African countries take center stage at the Africa Health Conference 2026
Broad participation from African countries to strengthen health cooperation

The Egyptian capital, Cairo, is hosting the conference events. Africa Health ExCon 2026, from June 15 to 18, with broad participation from African and international countries, in one of the largest health gatherings on the continent, which aims to support cooperation in the areas of healthcare, localize the pharmaceutical industry, and promote digital transformation in the medical sector.
Broad participation from African countries to strengthen health cooperation
Egypt is at the forefront of participating countries as the host country, with official delegations from the Ministry of Health, the Unified Procurement Authority and the Egyptian Drug Authority participating, with a focus on strengthening pharmaceutical industries, supporting health infrastructure and expanding health cooperation with African countries.

Kenya is among the leading East African countries, focusing on developing comprehensive health insurance systems, expanding the use of technology in medical services, supporting innovation in primary health care and improving the quality of health services.
Nigeria, as the most populous African country, is also strongly present, and prioritizes combating infectious diseases, supporting local pharmaceutical industries, and expanding the umbrella of universal health coverage, which will be reflected in improved medical services.

South Africa is participating with a delegation specializing in scientific research and medical innovation, with a focus on vaccine development, strengthening the role of research centers, and modernizing health systems in line with global standards.
Ethiopia stands out as one of the key players in the African health security file, where its participation focuses on strengthening the capabilities of public health systems, cooperating with the African Union in addressing health challenges, and supporting disease control programs.
Ghana is also among the emerging countries in the health sector, focusing on the digital transformation of health services, developing hospital infrastructure, and strengthening African partnerships in the field of health.
Tanzania is among the participating countries in East Africa, where it focuses on combating endemic diseases, supporting primary health care programs, and developing joint regional initiatives to promote public health.
The conference, in its current edition, reflects a growing African trend towards promoting health self-sufficiency within the continent, expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing, and supporting medical innovation, which contributes to building a more integrated and sustainable health system among African countries.
