Tripartite cooperation between Egypt, the World Health Organization and Guinea
Egypt's support for Guinea in the health sector

Ambassador Mohamed El-Halawany, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Guinea, discussed with Dr. Jean-Marie Kepella, Director of the World Health Organization office in the Guinean capital Conakry, ways to enhance tripartite cooperation between Egypt, the World Health Organization and Guinea, especially in the areas of health training, cancer treatment, and combating epidemics and infectious diseases.
Egypt's medical expertise in Africa
The meeting came within the framework of joint efforts aimed at supporting the health sector in Guinea and enhancing the benefit from accumulated Egyptian expertise in the medical and health fields, in order to contribute to the development of health services and raising the efficiency of medical personnel and workers in the health sector.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed opportunities to expand training and capacity-building programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on transferring Egyptian expertise in specialized healthcare, diagnosis and treatment, and healthcare management. They also discussed mechanisms for cooperation in oncology treatment, given Egypt's advanced expertise and capabilities in this sector, as well as the possibility of providing training programs for Guinean doctors and specialists at Egyptian medical centers.

The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation in combating epidemics and infectious diseases, through the exchange of technical expertise, support for rapid monitoring and response systems, and strengthening the capabilities of health personnel to deal with emergency health challenges, in line with international efforts aimed at enhancing health security in the African continent.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Halawany affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting its brothers in Guinea in various development fields, especially the health sector, noting that Cairo attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with African countries within the framework of the partnership and solidarity relations that unite it with the countries of the continent.
For his part, Dr. Jean-Marie Kipella expressed his appreciation for the role played by Egypt in supporting African health systems, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation with Egyptian health institutions and benefiting from their expertise in the areas of training, treatment and disease control.
This meeting reflects the growing trend towards strengthening health partnerships between African countries and international organizations, which contributes to improving health services, supporting sustainable development efforts, and enhancing the ability of health systems to meet current and future challenges.
