Khaled Aref, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Senegal, visited the wind farm (“Parc Éolien Taïba N’Diaye” PETN), belonging to the Egyptian company Infinity Power, located about 70 km north of the capital, Dakar, in the Thiès region. This visit falls within the embassy's keenness to follow up on major Egyptian projects operating in Senegal and to review their direct developmental impact on the Senegalese citizen.

The Egyptian ambassador inspects the “Infinity Power” project, which provides electricity to more than two million citizens.

During the visit, the ambassador was briefed on the operational phases of the power plant—the largest of its kind in West Africa—which has a production capacity of 158.7 megawatts distributed across 46 turbines and meets the needs of more than two million Senegalese citizens, which is equivalent to about 15% of the country’s total electricity generation capacity, in addition to an estimated reduction of 300,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Ambassador Khaled Aref praised the high technical level reflected in the project, considering it a model to be emulated for the ability of Egyptian companies to implement major strategic projects with international standards on African soil, which enhances Egypt's position as a reliable development partner for the continent.

He also praised the prominent societal role played by Infinity Company in the project's vicinity, through women's empowerment programs, educational support initiatives by building and equipping specialized schools, and providing scholarships for the region's children, which reflects the company's commitment to its social responsibility alongside its economic role.

The ambassador affirmed that this project represents a true bridge for rapprochement between the two brotherly peoples of Egypt and Senegal, expressing his hope that it will be the beginning of further Egyptian investments in the fields of clean energy and infrastructure in Senegal, in a way that serves the country's sustainable development and strengthens the bonds of strategic partnership between Cairo Dakar.
