The First Lady of Anambra State in Nigeria, Noni Solodo, called for improvement Children's situationsTo the less fortunate throughout the country, and to spread love and care to them, in order to give them a sense of belonging and reassurance that their future is bright.
This call came during a visit by Solodo to some orphanages, as part of the activities celebrating ”Mother’s Day”, where she described children as the foundation of society.
This was stated in a press release issued on Monday.
Mother's Day is a traditional Christian celebration held on the fourth Sunday of Lent, corresponding to March 15, 2026, to honor mothers and mother churches. It includes family gatherings, the giving of flowers, and the performance of special religious rites.
Love and care at all times
The First Lady confirmed Anambra StateThe founder of the non-governmental organization “Healthy Living with Noni Solodo” stated that children throughout the country, especially those living in orphanages, need and expect love, care, and affection at all times.
According to her, the greatest gift anyone can give is kindness, and the joy it brings is priceless, adding that this is exactly what a satisfying celebration means.
She said: “Yesterday, Mother’s Day went beyond mere celebration; it became a moment of pure compassion and love. Sharing laughter, warmth, and hope with my children at the orphanage reminded us of the true essence of motherhood, which is caring for the vulnerable and putting a smile on the faces of those who need it most.”.
The mother's role in raising children
She continued: “Because sometimes the greatest gift we can give is kindness, and the joy it brings is priceless, that is exactly what this celebration means to me… I wish you a happy and prosperous week.”
The governor's wife praised the mothers' resilience, sacrifices, and unwavering love in caring for homes and building the moral fabric of society.
She added that mothers have a pivotal role not only in raising children, but also in maintaining peace, unity and progress within societies.
