Heavy airstrikes carried out by the Malian armed forces against positions terrorist groups The armed forces were stationed on the borders of Kidal province, where the city of Kidal was shaken early this morning as a result of an attack by the country's armed forces.
According to several informed sources, the targeted operations caused significant material damage and allowed for the neutralization of many entrenched terrorist fighters in the region.
Targeting bases used by terrorists in Mali

Initial information gathered revealed that the strikes targeted precise strategic points considered to be operational bases used by terrorist groups active in northern Mali.
The high-intensity explosions shook several sectors of the city, causing panic among the occupants of the targeted locations.
The air operations carried out by FAMA are part of the dynamics of restoring national territory and the relentless fight against terrorism in all its forms.
It is worth noting that for several months, the Malian army has intensified attacks in various parts of the country in order to dismantle terrorist networks and fully restore state authority.
According to witnesses on the ground, a large part of Kidal province suffered extensive damage as a result of the strikes. Security sources also indicate that numerous terrorists were neutralized during this major operation, although a final official assessment has not yet been provided to the military authorities.
This new deployment of FAMA forces demonstrates the increased operational capabilities of the Malian army in securing national territory.
It also reflects the transitional authorities' determination to continue fighting relentlessly against terrorist groups that threaten the stability and sovereignty of Mali.
In many parts of the country, many citizens are already welcoming this military intervention, which they consider a strong signal sent to the enemies of the nation.
The residents reaffirm their support for the Malian armed forces engaged in various operational tracks to defend territorial integrity and maintain peace.
Security forces on high alert to counter attempts to dismantle the country
The country is witnessing a security mobilization with military operations and attacks launched by the Malian armed forces on the city of Kidal following the counter-attacks launched by the Tuareg rebels in April 2026, after a major campaign by the armed forces during which they succeeded in controlling the city in late 2023, as part of ongoing attempts to defend and recapture it.
The capital, Bamako, considers that Kidal’s remaining outside the authority of the state undermines state sovereignty. Since 2012, the city has been under the control of Tuareg separatist movements such as the Coordination of Azawad Movements and the Azawad Liberation Front. The Malian authorities have continued to see this situation as an obstacle to the unity of the country and an attempt to impose a separatist reality that threatens to dismantle Mali.
