Egypt showcases its latest agricultural technologies at the Algiers International Agriculture Fair

Prominent Egyptian participation in the agricultural exhibition in Algeria, with the presence of 247 international brands.

Alaa Farouk participated, Minister of Agriculture The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, along with Yassine Walid, the Algerian Minister of Agriculture, inaugurated the 24th International Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Industries, which is being held in the Algerian capital, under the slogan: “Modernizing Agriculture, Strengthening Food Sovereignty and Envisioning the Future,” in the presence of a group of ministers and heads of official and diplomatic delegations.

Egypt’s participation as a guest of honor for this session, along with Niger and Mauritania, confirms the depth of the historical and strategic relations that bind Egypt and sister Algeria, and embodies the shared vision towards activating continental integration and building strong regional production chains capable of facing global challenges.

Following the opening ceremony, Alaa Farouk and his Algerian counterpart toured the exhibition pavilions, which this year witnessed broad international participation including 247 global brands. The Egyptian pavilion also witnessed a large turnout and widespread praise from the participating delegations, as leading major Egyptian companies showcased their latest technologies and products in the fields of development, reclamation, agricultural production and food industries.

The Minister of Agriculture met with Egyptian and Algerian exhibitors and investors, listening to their views on ways to enhance trade and investment partnerships. He also expressed his pride in the tangible success and distinguished reputation of Egyptian products and companies in international markets, stressing the Ministry’s full support for Egyptian investors abroad to increase agricultural exports and transfer national expertise.

In his speech during the events, Alaa Farouk conveyed the greetings of the Egyptian political leadership and its wishes for the sisterly state of Algeria for more progress and prosperity, pointing to the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Egypt and Algeria. He also stressed that agricultural cooperation represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and food sovereignty for the two countries.

In his speech, the minister pointed to the unprecedented agricultural renaissance that Egypt is witnessing under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, through major national land reclamation projects such as the New Delta project, in addition to the efforts that Egypt is making to achieve food security, relying on agricultural innovation, modern irrigation technologies, and high-yield seeds to confront climate change and water scarcity.

Farouk stressed the Egyptian state’s keenness to transfer its successful experiences to its brothers in the African continent, and to support all regional initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable food security, noting that the current economic and environmental challenges facing the world require close coordination between African and Arab countries, to maximize the benefit from available resources and achieve real agricultural and industrial integration that guarantees the well-being of the peoples of the continent and the independence of their food decision.
