The Egyptian youth national team failed in Qualification To the final of the African Cup of Nations Under 17s, currently being held in Morocco, after losing to Tanzania 4-3 on penalties, in the match that brought them together at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in the capital Rabat as part of the semi-final competitions.
The match ended in a goalless draw after regular time, with Tanzania winning on penalties, while Egypt awaits the third-place match against the loser of the Morocco-Senegal match scheduled for later.
Tanzania qualified for the first time in its history

Tanzania qualified for the final for the first time in its history, to meet the winner of the match between Morocco and Senegal.
The Egyptian national team's lineup for the match was as follows:

Egypt qualified at the expense of Ivory Coast
Egypt qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Ivory Coast 4-1 in the quarter-finals, while Tanzania advanced after beating Algeria 4-3 on penalties following a 3-3 draw. Morocco progressed after a 1-0 victory over Cameroon, and Senegal advanced after defeating Mali 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
The Egyptian national team has secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Egypt had secured its qualification for the Qatar 2026 World Cup finals after reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament, where it topped Group B with 4 points from a win, a draw and a loss, after a 0-0 draw with Ethiopia, a 2-1 win against Tunisia, and a loss to Morocco by the same score.
The Egyptian youth national team includes players from the most prominent local and international clubs, in a move that confirms the Football Association’s keenness to prepare a generation capable of competing in future tournaments.
