Egypt invites Kenya to attend the El Alamein African Business Forum

Ambassador Hatem Yousri Hosni, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kenya, met with the CEO of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. KenyanK.K. Mutai to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and Kenya, and to develop links between the business communities in the two countries.
The importance of Kenya's participation in the El Alamein African Business Forum
Ambassador Yosri stressed the importance of Kenya’s participation in the “Alamein African Business Forum” scheduled to be held in June 2026 in the new city of Alamein in Egypt.
The forum, the first of its kind, aims to bring together African governments, business leaders and investors to promote African economic integration and strengthen partnerships between African countries.
An opportunity for Kenyan companies to explore business opportunities in Egypt
The ambassador extended a formal invitation to Mutai to attend the El Alamein African Business Forum, noting that it would represent an opportunity for Kenyan companies to explore business opportunities in Egypt, as well as explore opportunities for cooperation with other African companies.
In another context, the Egyptian Attorney General, Counselor Mohamed Shawky, received at his office the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya, Renson Mbonga, and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of strengthening judicial and legal cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and in confirmation of the depth of the historical ties that unite the Arab Republic of Egypt with the countries of the African continent.
The visit included an extensive session of talks between the two sides, which addressed ways to support joint cooperation in the areas of combating organized and transnational crime, cybercrimes, and the exchange of experiences in the areas of training and capacity building, as well as discussing mechanisms for judicial coordination between the two public prosecutions, in order to enhance efforts to achieve justice and consolidate the rule of law.
Extensive relationship with African judicial institutions
The Egyptian Attorney General delivered a speech in which he welcomed Egypt’s distinguished guest, stressing the Egyptian Public Prosecution’s pride in its long-standing relations with African judicial institutions, and its constant commitment to supporting continental cooperation frameworks and exchanging legal and judicial expertise, in order to contribute to consolidating security and stability and achieving the aspirations of African peoples for development and justice.
The Kenyan Attorney General delivered a speech in which he expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome, praising the pivotal role played by the Arab Republic of Egypt in supporting joint African action, and the institutional and technical development witnessed by the Egyptian Public Prosecution, which reflects a modern vision in managing the justice system.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two sides exchanged commemorative shields, documenting the depth of bilateral relations and affirming the continuation of cooperation and joint coordination between the two public prosecutions in various areas of common interest.
