Expanding study and training opportunities
Among the decisions, the council approved the allocation of a plot of land in the Kolokani area to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in preparation for the establishment of a new university in the Kollikoro region.
The project comes as part of the higher education reform plan, with the aim of expanding study and training opportunities and linking university specializations to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of local development.

The meeting also witnessed a wide range of government appointments in the ministries of defense, economy, foreign affairs, energy, education and religious affairs, as part of a move to restructure the administration and enhance competencies in government institutions.

The visit included high-level meetings with Russian officials, in addition to the signing of memoranda of understanding in economic, scientific and technical fields, amid Moscow’s confirmation of its continued support for Bamako, especially in the face of the security and terrorist challenges that the country has recently witnessed.
Diplomatic moves and health concerns
In the diplomatic context, the Malian government affirmed its continued engagement in African issues, through participation in African Union events and attendance at the inauguration ceremony of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
The Council also discussed the issue of irregular migration during Mali’s participation in the International Migration Forum in New York, coinciding with the announcement of the organization of Environment Week next June under the slogan of confronting climate change and desertification.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministry of Health warned of a rise in dengue fever cases, urging citizens to adhere to preventive measures to limit the spread of the disease.
