President Sisi discusses with global tourism leaders ways to boost investments and develop the sector
High-level meeting to support the tourism sector in Egypt

President Abdel Fattah received SisiToday, Manfredi Lefebvre Dovidio, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Travel and Tourism Council, was present, along with a number of senior officials and prominent international figures in the tourism sector, including the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, and the CEO of the Council, Gloria Guevara, as well as executives from major international companies.
The official spokesperson for the presidency explained RepublicIn a statement on his official Facebook page, the President stressed during the meeting the importance of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the World Travel and Tourism Council, as it is one of the most prominent international entities representing the private tourism sector, which contributes to supporting the growth of the sector and enhancing its sustainability, given the diverse tourism assets that Egypt possesses.
A major international event that enhances Egypt's tourism standing
During the meeting, the council chairman announced the organization of a prominent international event entitled “Leadership Journey for Global Tourism Leaders” in Egypt, with the participation of about 270 senior presidents and representatives of global tourism and travel companies, as part of a cruise that passes through the Suez Canal and a number of Egyptian cities and ports.
He pointed out that choosing Egypt to host this event reflects the great confidence in the Egyptian tourism assets, and in the climate of stability that the country is witnessing, as well as the efforts made to develop the sector and enhance its ability to attract more tourists and investments.
International praise for the Egyptian tourism sector
The Council delegation expressed its appreciation for the visit to Egypt, stressing their desire to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian government in the areas of tourism investment and infrastructure development.
Nick Adams, the US Presidential Envoy for Tourism, also conveyed greetings from Donald Trump, emphasizing the United States' desire to increase mutual tourism between the two countries.
An ambitious plan to welcome 30 million tourists annually
For his part, President Sisi stressed the state’s keenness to continue developing the tourism sector, aiming to reach 30 million tourists annually, noting that hosting such international events enhances Egypt’s position on the global tourism map.
He also stressed Egypt’s readiness to host more major events and provide all the necessary facilities to ensure their success, in support of the state’s efforts to attract investments and promote economic growth.
Stability and security are essential pillars for tourism growth.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President stressed that maintaining security and stability is a fundamental element in supporting the tourism sector, which was praised by the members of the delegation, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian leadership in promoting stability in the region, which positively impacts international tourism.
