Kenyan President receives Egyptian Health Minister
President William Rutte received the President of the Republic KenyaDr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival to participate in the opening session.

President William Ruto of Kenya said: “Africa is no longer a passive participant in global health, but has become an active participant in shaping its directions, priorities and outcomes. Real progress in the future of health policies, innovation and health service delivery cannot be made without Africa being at the heart of the deliberations and implementation process.”.
Reimagining health systems in Africa
“To achieve this ambitious plan, we must reimagine health systems in Africa and place political leadership, technology, and the mobilization of local resources at the heart of this paradigm transformation,” Ruto continued in a statement on the X platform.
The Kenyan president added: “Most importantly, health systems in Africa will only be sound when we can manufacture sufficient health goods within the continent. This speech was delivered at the regional meeting for the World Health Summit 2026 in Nairobi, which brings together 2,000 delegates from 40 countries.”.

Strengthening relations between Egypt and Kenya
Earlier today, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a telephone conversation with President William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that President Sisi praised, during the call, the remarkable development witnessed in the bilateral relations between Egypt and Kenya.
The President stressed the importance of continuing to work on strengthening these relations in various areas of common interest, particularly in the economic, trade and investment aspects, in order to achieve the development goals of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the Kenyan President expressed his agreement with what the President had proposed, praising the momentum and progress witnessed in bilateral relations, and stressing his country’s keenness to continue cooperation with Egypt to elevate these relations in a manner befitting the depth of the fraternal and historical ties between the two countries, and expressing his hope that President El-Sisi would visit Kenya.
