Namibia and China announce advanced partnership to build a shared future
And strengthening international cooperation

The Republic announced Namibia The People's Republic of China and Namibia are strengthening their strategic relations by issuing a joint statement on building a «Namibian-Chinese community with a shared future for the new era,» at the conclusion of the state visit by.
The visit came in response to an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which the two sides held extensive discussions covering ways to develop bilateral relations in light of current international changes, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common concern. The Namibian President also met with Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji.

The joint statement affirmed the depth of historical relations between the two countries, which date back to the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1990, and evolved into a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in 2018. Both sides noted the continued strengthening of mutual political trust, the achievement of tangible results in areas of practical cooperation, as well as joint coordination in international forums.
The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Global South countries, considering that Namibian-Chinese relations represent a successful model for African-Chinese partnership based on common interests and mutual respect.

In a related context, both sides acknowledged the necessity of developing effective mechanisms to confront growing global challenges, in light of the accelerating transformations in the international system, emphasizing the importance of supporting and strengthening the role of multilateral institutions, and developing frameworks for global governance.
Namibia, for its part, expressed its appreciation for the initiatives put forward by the Chinese president, which include building a community of shared future for mankind, promoting high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative, considering them important tools to support international stability and achieve sustainable development.
This growing convergence between the two countries reflects a trend towards deepening strategic partnership, contributing to the support of economic development efforts and strengthening multilateral cooperation, in light of the global challenges witnessed on various levels.
