The delegations participating in the Pearl Exhibition continue Africa The tenth tourist in Uganda is to enjoy the country’s enchanting nature, including the “Top of the Falls” area, which is a tourist tour full of contemplation and deep reflection on the common tributaries and interests that unite the countries of the African continent, due to the strong common ties between them, such as the Nile River.

At the top of the falls in Uganda, the great Victoria Nile rushes through a narrow gorge no more than 7 meters wide before plunging 43 meters into a gorge called the “Devil’s Cauldron,” emitting a thick spray and a roaring thunder. From the top of the roaring falls, delegations document the power of nature and the strategic importance of the Nile for the tourism, energy and regional economy sectors in Uganda.

The tour comes as part of the outcomes of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Exhibition (POATE 2026) and the joint familiarization trip between the countries, which seeks to promote joint African diplomacy and exchange views on the sustainable management of resources in a way that serves the interests of the African peoples.

The delegations watch the Nile rush through a narrow strait before continuing its historic journey in Africa. For Uganda, the Nile is a vital source of tourism, fisheries and hydroelectric power.

Uganda is working to redefine how Africa’s natural resources are used for sustainable development and regional integration.

The tours include a visit to the Zewa Rhino & Wildlife Sanctuary in Uganda, a non-profit sanctuary established in 2005 to reintroduce the southern white rhino, and the only place in the country to see this animal in its natural habitat as it is threatened with extinction.

The Pearl of Africa Tourism Exhibition is one of the most prominent annual events in the travel and tourism sector in the East and Central Africa region, and is organized by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

The exhibition primarily aims to highlight the unique tourism assets of Uganda, historically known as the “Pearl of Africa,” and to connect African tourism professionals with international markets and agents.

The latest edition of the exhibition focused on “Sustainable Tourism and Intra-African Links”, with an emphasis on tourism diplomacy and how to utilize natural resources in a way that preserves the environment and supports local communities.
