Condemnation of armed attacks in Mali

For its part, the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs said on “X” that “the United States strongly condemns the terrorist attacks that took place today in Mali.”.
He added: “We express our deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected. We stand with the people of Mali and their government in the face of this violence, and the United States reaffirms its commitment to supporting efforts to promote peace, stability, and security in Mali and the region.”.
Eliminating a number of militants in Mali
Earlier today, the Malian army announced that it had eliminated a number of militants while they were attempting to carry out attacks in some areas of the country.
The Malian Armed Forces stated in a statement, “The General Staff of the Armed Forces informs the national public that armed terrorist groups attempted, this morning, April 25, 2026, to launch attacks in some cities of the country.”.
She added, “Many terrorists have been eliminated and their equipment destroyed, while combing operations continue, and the situation is under control.”.

Prior to that, the Malian army reported that several sites and barracks in the capital Bamako and other areas of the country had been targeted by armed groups.
The West African nation is facing armed attacks from extremist groups linked to al-Qaeda and ISIS.
