Congo-Brazzaville is preparing today to hold an inauguration ceremony for newly elected President Denis Sassou Nguesso.
The ceremony will take place in front of the public and invited senior officials at Kentley Stadium.

The head of state will be sworn in for a new 5-year term, marking the beginning of a new era of governance.

Denis Sassou Nguesso was re-elected with 94.82 percent of the vote, extending his nearly 42-year rule in the oil-producing Central African nation.
Diplomats and political analysts had expected an easy victory for Sasso, 82, who faced six rivals in the race.
