The Ministry of Transport issued a press release confirming that work continues as normal. Damietta Port With its full operational capacity, all operational activities at the port are proceeding normally and regularly, with the continued arrival and departure of ships of all types, in addition to the execution of loading and unloading operations and the handling of goods, containers, dry bulk, liquid bulk and general cargo, according to the highest rates of operational efficiency and in accordance with the approved plans and schedules, with the continued arrival of ships to the port according to the plan.
The ministry explained that all berths and terminals in the port are operating at full efficiency, with the availability of various maritime and logistical services, pilotage, towing and mooring services, which ensures the speed of ship handling and reduces the time they stay in the port, within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s plan to enhance the efficiency of Egyptian ports and raise their competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
The ministry added that Damietta Port continues to provide its services 24 hours a day, through an integrated operating system that relies on the latest technological systems, which contributes to meeting the needs of global shipping lines and port users, and ensures the smooth flow of trade and supply chains without any obstacles.
The Ministry of Transport confirmed that the movement of traffic at the port is proceeding smoothly in all sectors, with the continuation of loading, unloading, storage and internal transport operations in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and safety, in order to achieve the targeted performance rates and maintain the regularity of the movement of exports and imports without any impact.
The ministry pointed out that Damietta Port is one of the most important Egyptian commercial ports and a key hub in the maritime transport and logistics system, and it receives great attention within the framework of the state’s plan to develop Egyptian ports and transform Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade, through the implementation of projects to develop and expand docks and stations, raise the efficiency of the infrastructure and modernize the operating systems and services provided.
The Ministry of Transport concluded its statement by emphasizing the continuous, round-the-clock monitoring of various operational activities within the port of Damietta, ensuring the continued provision of distinguished services with high efficiency, maintaining the regularity of maritime navigation and cargo handling, and supporting trade, thereby enhancing the status of Egyptian ports and serving the state’s economic development goals.
