Chad inaugurates new Ministry of Finance headquarters to enhance government administration efficiency

Chad is moving towards modernizing its administrative structure.

The President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mohamed Idris Déby Itno inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation on Friday, in a move that reflects the state's direction towards modernizing its administrative structure and enhancing the efficiency of its government institutions.

The opening took place during an official ceremony, as the new building is considered one of the most prominent modern government projects, due to its advanced capabilities and integrated facilities that support the institutional work environment.

The headquarters comprises 10 floors and includes 530 administrative offices, 17 meeting rooms, and a main conference hall with a capacity of approximately 500 people, enabling it to host major official events. The building also features 13 elevators and 7 emergency stairwells, enhancing safety standards and operational efficiency.

The facilities were not limited to administrative aspects only, but the headquarters also includes a restaurant with a capacity of up to 220 seats, an underground parking garage that can accommodate 145 cars, in addition to a spacious reception hall to serve employees and visitors.

The Chad State project reflects the government’s commitment to developing administrative infrastructure and providing modern facilities that meet international standards, thereby supporting economic development and institutional reform efforts in the country.

In another context, the Minister of Land Reclamation, Housing and Urbanization in Chad, Mohamed Salek Halate, received a delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands to discuss ways to enhance technical and institutional cooperation between the two countries in the field of flood prevention and water resources management.

The meeting included a review of the results of the first phase of Dutch interventions in Chad, as well as a discussion of the features of the second phase of the program, including identifying the areas targeted in the future and intervention priorities in accordance with the country’s needs in the field of water management and reducing natural risks.
