The President of Niger heads to Maradi to participate in the National Tree Day celebrations

The President of the Republic of Niger, the Head of State, General Abdourahmane Tiani, left the capital Niamey on Monday, August 3, 2026, heading to the city of Maradi to participate in the celebration of National Tree Day.

President Tianyi is accompanied on the visit by an official delegation that includes a number of senior state officials, including the Minister of State and Minister of National Defense, General Salifou Mody, the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Brigadier General Ibrahim Amadou Bacharo, and member of the National Committee for the Salvation of the People, Colonel Karimou Hema Abdallah.

The delegation also includes the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Colonel Major Garba Hakimi, the Minister of State, Director of the Office of the President of the Republic and official spokesperson for the government, Dr. Soumana Boubacar, and the Deputy Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Salim Mohamedou Gado.

The delegation also includes the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Niger and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Younousse Brazi Maiga, along with the Secretary General of the Government, Mohamed Roufai La Wali.

President Abdurrahman Tianyi is scheduled to participate in the National Tree Day events in Maradi, as part of the official activities organized by the state to promote afforestation efforts and environmental conservation.
