Guinea's president begins a private vacation in Greece, and the army affirms its loyalty to the institutions and the country's stability.

Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya began a private visit to Greece on Monday with his family, while the armed forces rushed to affirm their loyalty to the institutions and their commitment to maintaining the country's stability, calling on citizens not to be misled by false information.
The Guinean presidency explained that Doumbouya left Ahmed Sekou Toure International Airport in Conakry after a farewell ceremony attended by Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, a number of senior presidential officials, military leaders and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
The first officially announced annual leave for the President of the Republic
The presidency confirmed that this trip represents the first officially announced annual leave for the president, within the framework of what it described as an initiative to enhance transparency with citizens, noting that it comes after years of managing state affairs, and before resuming the implementation of the ongoing reform program.
Hours after the president's departure, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Ibrahima Sory Bangoura, issued a statement stressing, on behalf of the defense and security forces, their complete loyalty to the President of the Republic, the institutions and the Guinean people, affirming that the army would continue to perform its constitutional duties and protect the country's stability and territorial integrity.
Bangura urged citizens not to pay attention to rumors or misinformation, stressing that the armed forces would remain on standby to ensure security and stability during the president's absence.
This statement comes in light of the pivotal role the military has played in the political landscape since September 5, 2021, when Mamadi Doumbouya, then a colonel, led a coup that ousted President Alpha Condé, before the National Committee for the Rally for Development took over the management of the transition.
After being promoted to the rank of general and elected president of the republic as part of the return to constitutional order, Dombouya continues to implement a program of institutional and economic reforms, while authorities confirm that state institutions will continue to operate normally during his private vacation in Greece.
