Ambassador Mohamed Hegazy, former Assistant Foreign Minister, confirmed that President Abdel Fattah's speech Sisi On the occasion of the seventy-fourth anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, it represents a comprehensive political message reflecting the vision of the Egyptian state in light of a highly complex regional and international stage, explaining that the speech came at a time that witnesses the escalation of crises in the Middle East, the Horn of Africa and Sudan, and the worsening repercussions of armed conflicts on security, stability and development, which gave it dimensions that go beyond celebrating the national occasion, to define Egypt’s priorities internally and externally during the next stage.

Hegazi explained in a statement to Zoom Africa News that the speech carried two main messages. The first was directed abroad, and it was to reaffirm that peace remains Egypt’s strategic choice, and that ending conflicts through dialogue and political settlements is the only way to achieve security and stability.

He added that the President reiterated Egypt’s position supporting the cessation of wars, rejecting attacks on the sovereignty of states, and stressing the need to respect international law, reflecting Cairo’s continued role as a pillar of regional stability and a mediator working to bring viewpoints closer and prioritize political solutions over the logic of force.

The former Assistant Foreign Minister pointed out that this message confirms, in light of the successive crises in the region, that Egyptian foreign policy is still based on firm principles of peace, development and partnership, far from policies of polarization or escalation.

He added that the second message of the speech was directed to the Egyptian people, and its essence was to instill confidence and optimism about the future, noting that the President was keen to review the major challenges that the state faced during the past years, whether in combating terrorism or implementing economic reform programs, infrastructure projects and comprehensive development, stressing that what has been achieved represents a solid foundation for launching towards a new stage of growth and improving the quality of life.

Hijazi stressed that the speech reflected confidence in the state’s ability to continue the development process despite economic and regional challenges, while emphasizing that the cohesion of the home front and the awareness of citizens were the decisive factors in overcoming various crises.

He pointed out that the speech carried an important implication, which is the link between security and development, explaining that, according to this vision, Egypt cannot achieve development without a stable regional environment, and that true peace is not complete except by providing development opportunities and improving the standard of living of citizens.

He added that this explains the combination of talking about Egypt’s regional role and its responsibility in supporting stability, and emphasizing the continuation of the national development process as the basic guarantee for a more prosperous future.

Ambassador Mohamed Hegazy concluded his statement by emphasizing that President Sisi’s speech on the seventy-fourth anniversary of the July Revolution reaffirmed a clear Egyptian equation, the basis of which is that peace represents the strategic option in foreign policy, while optimism and work form the basis for building the future at home. He considered that the message confirms the Egyptian state’s commitment to maintaining its stability, enhancing its regional role, and completing its development project, based on a national will that draws inspiration from the July Revolution’s values of resilience, construction, and confidence in the future.
