The UAE Ministry of Defense announced the detection of missiles coming from Iran The direction of the state's territory, confirming the success of the air defense systems in dealing with threats.

The ministry explained in a statement that four cruise missiles were detected, three of which were successfully intercepted over the country’s territorial waters, while the fourth missile fell into the sea without causing any significant damage.

She indicated that the sounds heard in various areas were due to aerial interception operations.

The ministry urged citizens and residents to be accurate and obtain information from official sources, while adhering to public safety procedures, especially when alerts and warnings are issued.

In a related context, the Fujairah government media office announced that a fire broke out in the Fujairah Petroleum Industries area, as a result of a drone strike coming from Iran.

The statement confirmed that the fire broke out inside the facilities of the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone, where civil defense teams immediately began dealing with the incident, and efforts are still ongoing to control it and prevent its spread.

The relevant authorities also stressed the importance of not spreading rumors, and relying only on official data to ensure the accuracy of information in light of the evolving situation.

This escalation comes at a time of increasing tensions in the region, amid regional and international anticipation of any developments that may affect the security and stability of the Gulf.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump told lawmakers in Congress that the war with Iran was “over,” in a move described by Western reports as an attempt to calm the growing controversy over the need for legislative approval to continue military operations, as the legal deadline set by the US War Powers Act approached.

A letter to Congress to justify the position

According to US reports, the White House explained its justifications in an official letter in which it confirmed that a ceasefire with Tehran practically means the end of hostilities, and therefore the cessation of the 60-day legal deadline that obliges the administration to obtain authorization from Congress to continue the war.

Trump said in the letter: “There has been no exchange of fire between the United States and Iran since April 7, 2026, and the hostilities that began on February 28 have ended.”.
