Investing in Kenya

The Kenyan capital, Nairobi, witnessed the convening of the new session of the Polish-Kenyan Business Forum 2026, organized by the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Institute of India in Nairobi, and with the support of the Polish Embassy, as part of efforts to enhance the presence of Polish companies in the Kenyan market and expand the prospects for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The forum was attended by a number of senior officials and representatives of economic institutions from both the Polish and Kenyan sides. The Polish side was represented by Anna Lesnodorska, Deputy Director of the Export Support Department for Africa and the Middle East at the PAIH Institute, and Lukasz Słuniowski, Head of the Institute’s Foreign Trade Office in Nairobi, along with Magdalena Muriczewicz, Deputy Head of Mission at the Polish Embassy, Colonel Radoslaw Grabski, Military Attaché, and Dr. Manish Shah, the new Honorary Consul of Poland in Mombasa.

On the Kenyan side, representatives from the Kenya Investment Authority and the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry were present, including Director Hussein Aden, representing Undersecretary Abu Bakr Hassan, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Defense, businessmen, and institutions concerned with supporting the business sector.
Food, agriculture, construction, cosmetics and infrastructure sectors
The forum witnessed a wide attendance of about 240 participants, including more than 50 representatives of Polish companies active in the food, agriculture, construction, cosmetics, infrastructure, logistics, information technology and industrial technology sectors, as well as representatives of the Gospodarstowa Krajowicz Bank (BGK).
The participation of the defense and arms industries sector, including dual-use companies, was also prominent, through the presence of prominent Polish companies such as the WB Group, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa Group, Patron, PW PA-KO, Fabryka Broni “Łucznik”, Farada Group and Integra.
During the opening session, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Kenya Institute of Road and Construction Technology (KIHBT) and the Polish company Best Truck Driver Sp. z oo, with the aim of developing truck and bus driver training programs using virtual reality simulation technologies.

The forum sessions focused on export and investment opportunities, mechanisms for entering the Kenyan market, support tools available to companies, and promising sectors through which Polish companies can build a long-term presence in Kenya and East African markets.
Kenya is a major investment gateway to the African continent.
The participants affirmed Poland’s commitment to continuing to support the expansion of Polish companies within the Kenyan market and to enhance regional economic cooperation. The forum also provided an opportunity to showcase the rapid development of the advanced technology sector in Poland, particularly in the areas of banking, cybersecurity, transportation, education, agricultural food systems, and artificial intelligence technologies.
The forum also highlighted Kenya’s position as a major investment gateway to the African continent, along with the continued growth in trade volume between the two countries, and Poland’s position among the top 20 economies in the world.
The forum concluded with specialized professional networking sessions, including separate meetings for the banking and defense sectors, along with an accompanying exhibition where many companies showcased their products and services to participants and visitors.
