After nearly a week of disappearance, Major General Al-Nur Ahmed Adam succeeded today, Sunday, in reaching areas under his control Army Sudanese.

Today, videos have circulated of him greeting individuals in military uniforms in an area that does not appear to be clearly marked.

The so-called Revolutionary Awakening Council also announced the arrival of the leader The defector And the forces accompanying him safely to the army's control positions.

No official comment has been issued by the Sudanese Armed Forces.

The Awakening Council said that three of its officers and dozens of soldiers accompanied the defecting officer from areas in northern Darfur to army-controlled locations.

News of «Al-Nur Al-Qubba» was cut off at a time when talk was circulating about fierce battles that took place in desert areas of North Darfur, to cut off the road in front of him and the force accompanying him and prevent them from reaching areas under the control of the army.

Military sources indicated that the Rapid Support Forces had deployed large military reinforcements to surround the defecting commander in order to arrest him, while denying that he had left with a large force on board dozens of combat vehicles, as had been rumored.

It is likely that the split of Al-Nur Al-Qubba is closely linked to the Rapid Support Forces' invasion of the town of Mustariha last February.

As for the «Revolutionary Awakening Council,» it is a tribal militia led by the founder of the «Janjaweed,» Musa Hilal; he is a tribal leader whose main stronghold is the town of Mustariha in North Darfur State in western Sudan, and he had declared his loyalty to the army early on in the war against the «Rapid Support Forces.».
