President Abdel Fattah received SisiToday, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Mohamed Soufiane, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Cairo, and Idriss Latrach, Chief of Staff of the Algerian Minister.

A written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting began with the Algerian minister delivering to the President a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which included expressing sincere appreciation to the Egyptian President, and emphasizing the deep-rooted fraternal ties that bind Egypt and Algeria, and the rapidly growing relations of cooperation and partnership, especially in light of the remarkable development in the volume of investments and trade exchange between the two countries, while stressing the mutual keenness to continue developing and elevating relations, and strengthening the mechanisms of consultation and coordination regarding the developments taking place in the Arab world, the Middle East region and the African continent.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, indicated that the President welcomed the Algerian Minister and asked him to convey his greetings to his brother, President Tebboune, stressing the depth of the fraternal and historical ties between the two brotherly countries, and emphasizing the importance of building on the outcomes of the session of the Joint Higher Committee held in Cairo in November 2025, in a way that enhances bilateral cooperation, especially in the commercial and investment fields, and achieves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The President also stressed the need to intensify consultation and coordination between Egypt and Algeria in light of the exceptional circumstances the region is going through, including through the tripartite mechanism between Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia as a strategic diplomatic framework for the countries directly neighboring Libya, with the aim of advancing the path of a comprehensive political settlement and coordinating positions to end the Libyan crisis.

In this context, the President stressed that the general line of Egyptian foreign policy is based on the relentless pursuit of avoiding escalation, non-interference in the internal affairs of countries, seeking to resolve crises by peaceful means, achieving stability and development, and preserving the capabilities of peoples.

The official spokesperson added that the Algerian minister affirmed President Tebboune’s aspiration to continue political coordination between Egypt and Algeria on various issues of common interest, in order to strengthen regional peace and stability, including through the tripartite mechanism with Tunisia, stressing Algeria’s and President Tebboune’s personal keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt in various fields, especially since bilateral relations have witnessed a great leap during the past five years, as Egypt has become Algeria’s first trading partner in the Arab world and one of the top three investors in Algeria.

The official spokesperson stated that the President also received today Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of Tunisia, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Ms. Doha Al-Shuwaikh, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Tunisia in Cairo, and Mr. Samir Mansar, Director General of Bilateral Relations with Arab Countries at the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The President welcomed the Tunisian Minister and asked him to convey his greetings to his brother, President Kais Saied, stressing Egypt’s pride in the distinguished relations with Tunisia at the official and popular levels, and emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields and implement the decisions of the eighteenth session of the Joint Higher Committee, which was held in Cairo in September 2025.

For his part, the Tunisian minister expressed his thanks and gratitude for the president’s reception, and conveyed President Kais Saied’s greetings to the Egyptian president, stressing Tunisia’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations, economic cooperation and political coordination with Egypt, praising the distinguished level of consultation between the two countries, and conveyed the Tunisian president’s invitation to the Egyptian president to visit Tunisia at the earliest possible opportunity.

The official spokesperson added that the meeting addressed the regional situation and what it requires in terms of intensifying consultation, coordination and cooperation to preserve the stability and sovereignty of Arab countries and protect the resources of their peoples. In this regard, the President stressed the important role of neighboring countries in ensuring the stability and unity of sisterly Libya, stressing the importance of the continued work of the tripartite mechanism between Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
