Tanzanian President Samia Hassan has invited Ivorian legend Didier Drogba to help promote the Africa Cup of Nations.

Drogba has already met with the Minister of Sport in the Republic of Tanzania for discussions, in a move that reflects Tanzania's desire to capitalize on the great popularity of the African star before the start of the anticipated edition of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
Who is Didier Drogba?
Didier Drogba is considered one of the most prominent legends of African football throughout history, after he succeeded in building an exceptional career within European and African stadiums, which made him a sporting and humanitarian symbol in the African continent.
Drogba was born in 1978 in Abidjan, and began his professional career in the French stadiums, before attracting attention with the shirt of Olympique Marseille, before moving to Chelsea in a deal that later became one of the most important deals in the history of the English club.
During his time with Chelsea, Drogba achieved great successes, most notably winning the 2012 Champions League title, when he scored the equalizer against Bayern Munich, before taking the decisive penalty kick that gave the London club its first European title in its history.
He also led his country’s national team to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 2006, and became one of the most important goalscorers in the history of African football, in addition to his influential role off the field, after he became famous for his call for peace during the civil war in Ivory Coast.
Observers believe that choosing Drogba to promote the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations gives the tournament a significant boost in public and media attention, given the player's status among fans in Africa and the world.
