At the conclusion of the closed meeting, which lasted several hours, important recommendations were adopted.
The Senegal River Basin Development Organization (OMVS) is a strategic instrument serving over 30 million people in its member states and comprises companies currently facing technical, financial, and organizational difficulties. This session provided member states with an opportunity to consult with one another to identify appropriate solutions and strengthen the governance of the OMVS system.
According to the current Prime Minister, Mr. Tiémoko Traoré, Minister of Energy and Water of Mali, three points were addressed on the session's agenda, the most prominent being the governance of companies under the organization's supervision. The issue of navigation, considered among the key projects, was also discussed at length.

Minister Tiémoko Traoré noted that “the credibility of the organization depends on the proper implementation of these key projects,” reaffirming the commitment to the initial pledges made by member states “taking into account current issues,” something he said “is of concern not only to our heads of state, but also to our people.”.
In his address, Mr. Cheikh Tidiane Diagne, Minister of Water and Sanitation of the Republic of Senegal, thanked the Malian authorities for their warm welcome. He explained that excellent decisions had been adopted during this extraordinary session, and that their implementation would contribute to progress that would greatly benefit the people of various countries.
