Guinea and Egypt's Arab Contractors Company sign memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation in infrastructure, energy and fisheries

The Republic of Guinea and the Egyptian Arab Contractors Company announced the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding at the “La Colomb” Palace, in the presence of the Guinean Prime Minister and Head of Government Amadou Oury Bah, and the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Guinea, Mohamed Saleh El-Halawani, following two days of intensive working sessions.
The agreements reflect the shared will of the two countries to strengthen their strategic partnership through the implementation of major development projects within the “Simando 2040” program.
Exploring opportunities for collaboration in priority sectors
The meetings, presented by the Director General of the Guinean Development Agency, Namory Camara, witnessed technical discussions between the Egyptian delegation and a number of Guinean ministries, including the Ministries of Energy, Infrastructure, Fisheries and Maritime Economy, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in priority sectors.
The memoranda of understanding focus on developing energy infrastructure projects, enhancing electricity generation and transmission capacities, establishing economically impactful road projects, and implementing an integrated industrial fishing project. Both sides also agreed to conduct in-depth technical studies to ensure the economic viability and quality of the targeted projects.
