Ethiopian Airlines Launches Direct Flights to Mauritius

Ethiopian Airlines announced the launch of direct flights to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, starting tomorrow morning, with three flights per week.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said during the inauguration ceremony of the new route that direct flights will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Mauritius, as well as achieving sustainable, multi-sectoral benefits for both countries.
Facilitating tourist movement and enhancing tourism cooperation
He explained that direct air links between Mauritius, known globally for its beaches and tourism sector, and Ethiopia, rich in historical and cultural sites, would facilitate tourist movement and enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries.

On his part, the Ambassador of Mauritius to Ethiopia, Indradyo Boyaputoo, said the new line will provide greater opportunities for businessmen and investors in both countries to connect, accelerate trade exchanges, and establish joint investments.
Developing the export and import movement
He added that direct flights will also contribute to developing the export and import movement, and strengthening relations between the peoples of the two countries and cultural exchange.
Ethiopian Airlines currently operates 145 international destinations, including 62 destinations in 41 African countries, as part of its efforts to enhance air connectivity within the continent and internationally.
