Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population and Chairman of the National Council for Health Tourism, launched the National Health Tourism Platform from the Grand Egyptian Museum, in a ceremony attended by members of the Council, ministers, governors, ambassadors and representatives of relevant authorities, in a step that reflects the state’s direction towards developing the health tourism sector and integrating it into an integrated digital system.

Launch of the National Platform for Health Tourism

The minister explained that health tourism has existed in Egypt for decades, but the establishment of an integrated national system gives the sector a clear institutional framework that regulates the health tourist’s journey from visa procedures to obtaining medical services and follow-up afterward, thus enhancing Egypt’s position as a regional and international center in this field.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister of Health and official spokesperson for the Ministry, confirmed that Egypt possesses an advanced health and research system supported by highly efficient medical personnel and an institutional structure that adheres to international quality standards.

He pointed out that it had advanced to the 25th place globally in the SCIMAGO ranking of cited scientific research, after being in the 37th place less than ten years ago, and that it has hundreds of facilities accredited by the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control «JAHAR», in addition to its hospitals receiving hundreds of thousands of foreign patients from 124 countries since 2019, which reflects international confidence in the Egyptian health system.

For his part, Amr Sedky, Secretary-General of the National Council for Health Tourism, affirmed that Egypt offers tourists an integrated health and wellness tourism experience that blends the richness of civilization with medical expertise and unique natural resources. He pointed out that the launch of the «Tour 4 Cure» platform represents a strategic step towards digitizing health tourism services and unifying the booking, logistics, and marketing system, which enhances the country’s competitiveness and attracts more health tourists.

Salah Hatata, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solutions Company, explained that the platform represents the official and reliable digital gateway for the health tourist, as it manages the patient’s journey in an integrated manner, starting from choosing the service provider, through travel and treatment procedures, and even follow-up after receiving the service, while providing a comprehensive guide to hospitals, international partnerships, and a specialized team to ensure the highest quality standards.

Engineer Mahmoud Afifi, General Manager of Fixed Egypt, confirmed that the platform represents a qualitative leap in digitizing services and linking all parties of the system through an advanced technological infrastructure that ensures easy access, raises operational efficiency, and improves the tourist experience.
