Egypt and Seychelles discuss strengthening cooperation in tourism, maritime security, and medicine.

On the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister Foreign Ministry and emigration and Egyptians abroad affairs, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation, during a virtual meeting held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Minister Badr Abdel Aty confirmed during the meeting that the celebration of the golden jubilee of Egyptian-Seychellois relations reflects the strength of the historical ties between the two countries, and the fruitful development and cooperation they have witnessed over the past five decades, expressing Egypt's aspiration to continue strengthening the bilateral partnership in various fields to serve mutual interests.

For his part, the Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his country's appreciation for the congratulatory telegram sent by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the President of Seychelles on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his country's independence. He also thanked Egypt for the grant of laptops it provided to support the initiative of the First Lady of Seychelles, affirming that this initiative reflects the depth of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated his Egyptian counterpart on the distinguished performance of the Egyptian national team in the World Cup, considering that the results achieved by the team represent a source of pride for African football in general.

The meeting witnessed discussions on the prospects of developing bilateral cooperation in a number of sectors of mutual interest, most notably tourism, sports, the pharmaceutical industry, and maritime security, contributing to supporting sustainable development efforts and strengthening relations between Cairo and Victoria in the coming period.
