Economic messages from Brazzaville.. Egypt invites Congolese Minister of International Cooperation to visit Cairo

Ahead of the African Union summit, Egyptian moves to strengthen economic partnership with Congo-Brazzaville

The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of the Congo, Iman Yacout, discussed with the Congolese Minister of International Cooperation and Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships, Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of the momentum the bilateral relations are witnessing during the current period.

The meeting took place in the capital, Brazzaville, where the ambassador congratulated the Congolese minister on his reappointment to the new government, emphasizing the importance of building upon the positive development in Egyptian-Congolese relations and working to expand areas of economic and investment cooperation in various development sectors, in a way that achieves the mutual interests of both countries.

Cairo and Brazzaville seek to strengthen economic partnership

During the meeting, Ambassador Iman Yaqout presented an official invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, to the Congolese Minister to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity, in order to advance the path of bilateral cooperation and strengthen consultation and coordination mechanisms between the two sides.

The Ambassador also reviewed Egypt's preparations to host the African Union Coordination Summit next October, alongside the African Business Forum that will be held on its sidelines. She explained that the forum represents an important platform for strengthening economic integration among African countries, and supporting partnerships between governments, the private sector, and financial and developmental institutions, in line with the goals of continental development and the African Union's agenda.

Congo-Brazzaville

She emphasized that Egypt places special importance on strengthening economic cooperation with African countries, encouraging joint investments, and expanding private sector participation in implementing development projects, stemming from Cairo's vision aiming to achieve economic integration within the continent.

For his part, Congolese Minister Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso expressed his aspiration to visit Egypt as soon as possible, affirming his keenness to participate in the African Business Forum and benefit from the opportunities it offers to enhance economic cooperation between African countries.

The minister praised the role played by Egyptian companies operating in the Republic of the Congo, affirming that they present a successful model for economic cooperation between the two countries. He expressed his country's desire to attract more Egyptian investments to the Congolese market, which would contribute to the implementation of new development projects and strengthen economic relations, commensurate with the depth of the historical ties that unite Cairo and Brazzaville.

The meeting comes within the framework of joint efforts exerted by Egypt and Congo to enhance bilateral cooperation, expand economic and investment partnerships, in a manner that supports sustainable development and promotes economic integration among African countries.
