Celebrating Egypt's National Day in Djibouti reflects the strength of bilateral relations.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Republic Djibouti  A formal reception was held on the occasion of the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in an atmosphere that reflected the depth of the historical relations between the two countries. A large official and diplomatic turnout was witnessed, headed by the President of the Djiboutian National Assembly, alongside the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Interior, Culture, and Local Government and Decentralization, as well as a number of senior officials, heads of accredited diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, and members of the Egyptian expatriate community residing in Djibouti.

The will of the Egyptian people to build a modern state

The Egyptian ambassador affirmed, during his speech, that the celebration of the anniversary of the July 23rd revolution represents a national occasion that embodies the will of the Egyptian people in building the modern state, pointing to the developmental achievements that Egypt has made in recent years across various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, transportation, and digital transformation, which enhance its regional and international standing.

The ambassador reviewed the accelerating development in Egyptian-Djiboutian relations, emphasizing that the cooperation between the two countries is witnessing a qualitative leap under the existing strategic partnership, which extends to the fields of education, health, capacity building, trade exchange, and maritime security, serving common interests and enhancing stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.

Key Milestones of Bilateral Cooperation Between Cairo and Djibouti

The ceremony featured a mini-exhibition highlighting the features of ancient Egyptian civilization, alongside a display of the achievements made by the Egyptian state in recent years. It also shed light on the most prominent milestones of bilateral cooperation between Cairo and Djibouti, and joint projects that reflect the strength of relations between the two countries.

In celebration of Egyptian culture, the program included a live performance of Tahtib, one of Egypt's most prominent traditional arts registered on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. This performance was met with great admiration from the attendees, who praised the richness and diversity of Egypt's cultural heritage.

The celebration activities concluded with a raffle for travel tickets provided by EgyptAir, alongside the distribution of souvenirs to guests, a gesture that reflected the spirit of Egyptian hospitality and contributed to enhancing the festive atmosphere. This reflects the role of Egyptian diplomacy in consolidating relations with African countries and strengthening cultural and humanitarian bridges between peoples.
