Cameroonian Emmanuel Essimi broke the 100-meter record at the Commonwealth Games currently being held in Scotland on Tuesday, winning the gold medal in a race of 9.83 seconds in the rain in Glasgow.
His performance surpassed the gaming record held for 28 years by Ito Boldon of Trinidad.
Emmanuel Isimi also achieved a national record, making him the third fastest runner of the season.
Meanwhile, Australian Lachlan Kennedy broke the Oceania record with a time of 9.85 to win the silver medal.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Kayensula Ajayi won the bronze medal with a time of 9.9.
