Ain Shams University, led by Dr. Mohamed Dyaa El-Din Zain El-Abedin and supervised by Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, launched its ambitious project “STEP UP” for supplementary tracks and micro-credentials.
The project was attended by Dr. Sozan Al-Qalini, a professor of media at Ain Shams University, along with a number of university professors, specialists, and students from various faculties.
The project embodies the Egyptian state's firm commitment to human development and investment in human capital, qualifying youth for the labor market, and opening numerous avenues.
STEP UP Project Details
The project represents a quantum leap in university education, as it is implemented in accordance with the directives of the political leadership to develop the education system and link its academic outcomes to the actual needs of the labor market, in line with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The project serves as an innovative educational model aiming to bridge the gap between what students learn in classrooms and the demands of the rapidly changing job market.
The project includes seven specialized complementary tracks in the most in-demand future fields locally and internationally, which are:
Financial Technology (FinTech)
– Smart Technology (SmartTech), which includes artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
Geospatial Intelligence for Development (GeoSUSTAIN)
Digital Media Content Creation
English language in teaching science and mathematics, for qualifying teachers to work in international and language schools.
– Preparing the international teacher, according to the latest global standards such as the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Legal innovation, which includes digital legal research and AI applications in judicial work.
The project is also characterized by offering “Micro-Credentials” that are academically and professionally accredited. These are independent, stackable learning units, providing students, graduates, and professionals with exceptional flexibility in building their educational path according to their career aspirations, thereby enhancing their opportunities in the local, regional, and international job market.
The university emphasized that this project is a strategic step to support digital transformation, build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy, and prepare cadres capable of leading the development in the new republic, keeping pace with the rapid transformations of the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions.
