The President of the Republic of South Sudan, Lieutenant General Salva Kiir Mayardit, issued a series of presidential decrees ordering the implementation of Changes Widespread in a number of senior government and military positions, including the dismissal and appointment of senior officials, with immediate effect.
South Sudan's Minister of Finance and Planning relieved of his duties
Under the decisions, Salvatore Garang Mabiordit was relieved of his post as Minister of Finance and Planning, and Julius Taboli Daniel was relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of Public Service and Human Resources Development. In return, the President appointed Kuol Daniel Ayolo as the new Minister of Finance and Planning, and Clement Juma Mbogonvia as Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
The former governor of Jonglei State, Mahjoub Bill Truk, was also appointed as deputy minister of public service and human resource development.
The changes affect the Ministry of Defense.

In the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, the changes included the dismissal of Lieutenant General Santino Deng Wol from his position as Undersecretary for Veterans Affairs, along with the dismissal of Lieutenant General Dr. Paul Nang Majok from his position as Chief of Staff of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces.
In the new military arrangements, Lieutenant General Santino Deng Wol was appointed Chief of Staff of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces, while Dr. Paul Nang Majok was appointed Undersecretary for Veterans Affairs at the Ministry of Defence.
President Salva Kiir expressed his appreciation to the officials who were relieved of their duties, praising their efforts during their service, and wishing the new leaders success in their tasks.
