Media reports indicate that the Confederation of African Football, known as CAF, has officially postponed the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Morocco to ensure the participation of all the stars during the tournament.
An internal memo from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), addressed to members of its executive committee, revealed a proposal to reschedule the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations to take place from October 12 to 21, 2026.
Change in the date of the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Morocco
The CAF Executive Committee had granted Morocco, at its meeting on December 31, 2025, the honor of hosting the tournament, to be held between April 6 and 15, 2026. However, unforeseen circumstances prompted consideration of amending the date, in order to ensure broader and better participation for international players with their national teams.
According to reports, the new date, coinciding with the international break for futsal teams, is expected to raise the level of technical competitiveness of the tournament and enhance the presence of the continent's top stars, which will give the tournament added value on both the technical and popular levels.
Under this anticipated amendment, Morocco will be scheduled to host this continental event in October 2026 instead of April, pending official approval by the relevant authorities within the Confederation of African Football.
