Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, met with Mr. Robert Dossier, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad of the Republic of Togo, on Monday, June 1, on the sidelines of the Korea-Africa Ministerial Meeting, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and exchange views on issues of common interest.
Abdel-Aati affirms support for the participation of Egyptian companies in development projects.
Minister Abdel-Aty praised the growing momentum in bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness to continue strengthening cooperation and elevating relations to broader horizons. He emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation and encouraging the involvement of Egyptian companies in implementing development projects in Togo, given their expertise and capabilities in various sectors, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, electricity, contracting, agriculture, localization of pharmaceutical industries, and ports.

The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of technology localization and digital capacity building, with the Foreign Minister noting the interest in supporting African efforts aimed at developing national competencies and strengthening institutional capacities, through training programs organized by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, in a way that contributes to supporting sustainable development and enhancing integration among African countries.

In the same context, the two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Great Lakes region and the Sahel region, where Minister Abdel-Aty affirmed Egypt’s support for efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability and settling conflicts peacefully, praising the pivotal role played by Togo in mediating and establishing stability in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and the Sahel region.
