Egypt: Cotton exports decline by 32.81 TP3T during the last season

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization andStatisticsOn Tuesday, the total quantity of Egyptian cotton exports declined to 0.7 million quintals of cotton from the beginning of the season until its end in September/August 2025, compared to 1.1 million quintals in the same period of 2024, with a decrease of 32.8%.
This came according to data from the annual bulletin of cotton statistics for 2025, issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on Tuesday.
1.7 million quintals total cotton production
The total quantity of cotton fiber production reached 1.7 million quintals in 2025, compared to 2.5 million metric quintals in 2024, representing a decrease of 29.6%.
India was the largest importer of Egyptian cotton, with exports reaching 457.2 thousand quintals, representing 64.4% of the total exported quantity from the beginning of the season until its end in September/August 2025.
The total quantity of local cotton consumed reached 182,220 metric quintals during the season, compared to 107,500 metric quintals in 2024, representing an increase of 69.6%.
994,000 quintals is the actual stock of cotton fiber.
The total actual stock of cotton fiber reached 994,000 quintals on August 31, 2025, compared to 453,800 quintals on August 31, 2024, representing an increase of 119.0%.
The quantity of long and medium cotton varieties reached 913.4 thousand quintals, representing 91.9%. The Giza 94 variety is considered the most abundant variety, with a quantity of 571.5 thousand quintals, representing 57.5% of the total actual cotton stock as of August 31, 2025. .
The highest percentage of stored cotton on the night of August 31, 2025, is concentrated in the Sharqia Governorate, where the amount of cotton present reached 196.3 thousand quintals, representing 19.8%, followed by the Beheira Governorate with 173.8 thousand quintals, representing 17.5% of the total cotton present this season.
The stock of cotton fibers on the night of August 31, 2025, of the high quality grades (good/fage), amounted to 582.3 thousand metric quintals, representing 58.6%, followed by the high quality grades (good), amounting to 408.8 thousand metric quintals, representing 41.1%, followed by cotton without grades, amounting to 2.9 thousand metric quintals, representing 0.3% of the total stock this season.
The total actual stock of cotton fiber for imported cottons reached 60.8 thousand quintals on August 31, 2025, compared to 33.6 thousand quintals on August 31, 2024, an increase of 80.7%.
