The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz has extensive experience as a coach, having coached the national teams of Egypt, Qatar, Oman, Japan and Iran.

He has also previously led teams in the World Cup four times, in 2010 with Portugal and in 2014, 2018 and 2022 with Iran.

Ghana, on the other hand, is in Group 12 of the World Cup, alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

Mohammed Qaddous injured

On the other hand, Ghanaian player Mohammed Kudus suffered a new setback while recovering from the injury he sustained last January with his English team, Tottenham.

The club said in a statement: We confirm that Mohammed Qaddous has suffered a setback in his return from injury.

Quddus was injured against Sunderland last January and returned to team training last week, but he will now need further specialized medical examinations, and possibly surgery, which threatens his participation in the most important tournament in the world.
