The Ministry of Finance revealed in Libyan Government of National UnityThe payment of April salaries was delayed until May 3, 2026, noting that the delay was due to the inclusion of a number of new financial releases within the salary system.
11,376 employees were added to the payroll during April.
According to the statement issued by the ministry, it explained that in April, 11,376 new male and female employees were included in the payrolls, in accordance with the legal requirements and controls approved for holding public office, and that these releases included various sectors and municipalities throughout Libya, which required the completion of the technical and administrative procedures related to including them in the salary disbursement system.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that the listing process was carried out in accordance with legal and regulatory standards aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of disbursements and the accuracy of financial data, in line with the procedures in place within the public sector.
The Ministry of Finance’s clarification came as part of its follow-up on the public salaries file, which witnesses periodic updates related to employment decisions and financial releases in state institutions.
Taking into account the introduction of new updates to the job cadres in various sectors, the Ministry of Finance is working to organize the process of disbursing salaries on a monthly basis according to a unified system it has.
April 2026 salaries transferred to the Central Bank of Libya

In the same context, the ministry in the Government of National Unity announced the transfer of salaries for the month of April 2026 to Bank The Libyan Central Bank, within the financial procedures related to the disbursement process.
The ministry explained that the completion rate of the unified treasury account for salaries reached 75%, as part of completing the necessary technical and administrative steps to finalize the disbursement process.
The Ministry of Finance explained that this referral comes within the framework of ongoing work to organize and manage the monthly payroll system, in coordination with the Central Bank of Libya, to ensure the completion of the related financial procedures.
In recent times, financial authorities have been working on developing a payroll management system through the unified treasury account, with the aim of improving disbursement mechanisms and enhancing transparency in government financial procedures.
In another context, the country’s Administrative Control Authority revealed violations and corruption in the telecommunications sector. The Administrative Control Authority announced that its chairman, Abdullah Qader Bouh, had issued a decision earlier this year to suspend the so-called A. A. B. from work as a precautionary measure, based on violations and observations revealed by the committee formed under the chairman’s decision, related to some officials in the telecommunications sector, and violations of governance principles and conflicts of interest.
