The Director General of the Port of Dakar, Wali Diouf Boudiang, announced his unequivocal support for the dismissed Senegalese Prime Minister. Osman SonkoFollowing his dismissal from the premiership, he emphasized that what happened represents the beginning of a “new phase” in the political career of the leader of the “PASTEV” party.
Boudiag said in a post on his Facebook account that he was with Sonko at the moment, adding that “everything has an end,” in reference to the political developments that Senegal witnessed this evening.
The Senegalese official considered that the coming period would open a new page, adding that Sonko’s supporters “will march with him with dignity towards the presidential palace in 2029,” in a clear indication of the continued political bet on him during the upcoming presidential elections.
These statements come hours after Senegalese President Bachir Djouma Faye dismissed Ousmane Sonko from his post, a move that sparked widespread reactions within the country's political and party circles.
