The statements of the Minister of Development in the South sparked controversy. Africa Sissisi Tulashi faced widespread controversy before the parliamentary oversight committee after reports revealed that her daughter, Tulashi Khani, was appropriating half of the domestic worker's monthly salary of 15,000 rand, which appears to be contrary to public service regulations, opening the door to criticism within parliament.
During the hearing before the committee, she said Minister The Ministry of Social Development stated that the arrangements made regarding sharing a domestic worker's salary with her daughter were done without her knowledge, noting that the salary came directly from the department to her bank account, and that she was not a party to the agreement made between the worker and her daughter.
She indicated that her daughter and the employee had entered into a private agreement that she had no connection to, explaining that she had no knowledge of the payments made to the president's daughter, as the salary came directly from the department to her bank account.
The minister surprised members of parliament with additional details, telling them that the domestic worker had requested to be transferred to the Eastern Cape province in order to undergo training to become a traditional healer.
Tulashi Khani's daughter was taking half of the worker's monthly salary.

She continued, “Regarding food assistance, Ms. Noma Ta Msaka Kohlanga, she was employed as a temporary food assistant under the Public Service Regulations and requested to be transferred to the Eastern Cape Province in order to undergo training to become a traditional healer. As for the salary that was divided into two parts, I categorically confirm that Ms. Kohlanga was employed by the Ministry at the official residence in Cape Town. When it comes to payments to the President’s daughter, I have no knowledge of that, as the salary came directly from the department to her bank account.”
