President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi paid a fraternal visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday, during which he met with his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman. Oman.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, explained that the two leaders held an expanded session of talks with the participation of the delegations of the two countries, followed by a closed bilateral meeting, and then a working dinner. During the talks, the President reaffirmed Egypt’s support and full solidarity with the sisterly Sultanate of Oman in light of the current regional developments, stressing Egypt’s keenness to preserve the stability of the Sultanate and the Arab countries and to protect their sovereignty, security and the resources of their peoples.

The official spokesman added that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq welcomed the President’s visit, stressing the deep historical and close ties that unite Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, and the bonds of affection and brotherhood that unite the two brotherly peoples.

The talks also addressed the latest regional developments, with the two leaders stressing the importance of supporting efforts to resolve the current crisis in the region through negotiations, containing tensions and avoiding escalation to spare the region further instability and the dire consequences that will affect everyone.

In this context, the President affirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of any threat to the security and sovereignty of Arab states, considering their security an integral part of Egyptian national security, and stressing the unity of the common Arab destiny.

For his part, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast position and its continued support for the security and stability of Arab countries, praising the active Egyptian role in efforts to calm tensions in the Middle East.

The official spokesperson also explained that the talks touched on bilateral cooperation relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, where the two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the distinguished level that relations between the two countries have reached, and agreed to continue joint work to raise them to broader horizons, reflecting the depth of the fraternal ties between the two peoples.

At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bid farewell to the President at the Royal Private Airport in Muscat as he departed to return to the homeland.
