The Minister of Energy and Dams of the Republic of South Sudan, Awow Daniel Chuang, participated in the celebration organized by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Juba on the occasion of the Egyptian National Day and the seventy-fourth anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, representing President Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, on an occasion that reflected the depth of historical relations between the two countries.

The celebration was attended by a number of senior officials from the South Sudanese government, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of regional and international organizations accredited to Juba, reaffirming the status of Egyptian-South Sudanese relations at the regional and international levels.
During his speech, Minister Ajok Makur Kor conveyed the congratulations and greetings of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and the government and people of South Sudan, to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and to the government and people of Egypt, on the occasion of the National Day, wishing Egypt continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity.

The minister affirmed that the relations between the Republic of South Sudan and the Arab Republic of Egypt are based on deep-rooted historical and fraternal bonds, founded on mutual respect and common interests, emphasizing the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
He praised Egypt's role in supporting peace and development efforts in South Sudan, commending its contributions in capacity building, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other sectors that contribute to nation-building and strengthening stability.

He also called on the Egyptian government to continue supporting and caring for the South Sudanese community residing in Egypt, ensuring they receive treatment that reflects the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between the two countries, stressing that the community represents an important bridge for communication and strengthening understanding between the two peoples.

In another context, the Minister of Energy and Dams renewed the South Sudanese government's commitment to implementing the revitalized peace agreement, completing the transitional phase, and proceeding to hold the general elections scheduled for December 22, 2026, as a key milestone in the path to consolidating political stability and building institutions.
The celebration concluded with both sides affirming the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between Juba and Cairo, and working to develop bilateral relations to serve common interests, and contribute to strengthening peace, stability, and development in the region, in light of the noticeable development and increasing cooperation between the two countries in various political, economic, and developmental fields.
