Tanzania launches Zanzibar Investment Summit 2026 to strengthen partnerships with the Egyptian business community

The Embassy of the Republic announced Tanzania United in Cairo announced the launch of the Zanzibar Investment Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from June 3 to 5, 2026, under the slogan “Promoting Investment Diversification for Sustainable Development in Zanzibar”.

The summit aims to bring together international investors and leaders governments, and development partners, along with private sector representatives and innovators, with the aim of exploring promising investment opportunities in Zanzibar and enhancing its position as an emerging economic hub in East Africa.

Enhancing broad participation from the business community in Egypt

The embassy stressed its keenness to promote broad participation from the business community in Egypt, especially those working in the investment, tourism, trade, industry, pharmaceuticals, import and export sectors, noting that this participation represents an important opportunity to build strategic partnerships between the Egyptian and Tanzanian sides, in a way that achieves common interests and supports expansion into African markets.

The summit addresses a range of vital sectors that represent key pillars of growth in Zanzibar, including tourism, the blue economy, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology, and manufacturing, as it seeks to attract quality investments that contribute to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the added value of the local economy.

A variety of events spanning three days

The initial program for the summit includes organizing various events that extend over three days, with the first day witnessing field visits to a number of strategic projects, including blue economy projects, hotels and real estate, the multi-purpose port project, as well as renewable energy projects, with the aim of giving investors the opportunity to see firsthand the investment potential on the ground.

The same day also includes holding specialized workshops and training sessions, in addition to the opening of an investment exhibition featuring pavilions and interactive displays for participating companies and entities.

The second day will feature the official opening ceremony, with high-level participation from officials and international partners. It will include keynote speeches and panel discussions on the future of growth in Zanzibar and mechanisms for transforming investment opportunities into bankable projects, with the participation of international institutions and experts in economics and investment. The day will also include the launch of new investment initiatives, a dialogue session with the political leadership, and the continuation of the exhibition activities.

The third day is dedicated to enhancing communication between investors, and includes bilateral business sessions between companies and governments, professional networking events, in addition to organizing a breakfast for investors and expatriates, and an official dinner during which partners and investors are honored, which contributes to strengthening economic relations and opening new horizons for cooperation.

The Zanzibar Investment Summit 2026 seeks to establish itself as an international platform that brings together various stakeholders in investment and development, supporting Zanzibar’s efforts to attract foreign investment and enhancing its role as a regional economic hub capable of achieving sustainable growth in the African continent.
