President Sisi congratulates his Djiboutian counterpart on winning a new presidential term.
Moving the strategic partnership between the two countries forward
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today held a telephone conversation with President Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that President Sisi offered his sincere congratulations to the President of Djibouti on the occasion of his victory in a new presidential term in the elections that took place during April 2026.
Achieving development and prosperity
President Sisi affirmed that this victory reflects the firm confidence of the brotherly people of Djibouti in his wise leadership and his tireless efforts to achieve development and prosperity in his country.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, explained that President El-Sisi also expressed Egypt’s aspiration to continue joint work with the Djiboutian side, in a way that strengthens the brotherly relations between the two countries and advances the existing strategic partnership in various fields, as well as intensifying consultation and coordination regarding regional issues of common interest.
The depth of fraternal ties between Egypt and Djibouti
The official spokesperson added that President Ismail Omar Guelleh appreciated President Sisi’s congratulations, stressing the depth of the fraternal and strategic ties that unite Egypt and Djibouti and their peoples.
He also praised the momentum and continuous development of bilateral relations, stressing the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation in all areas of common interest.
